Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez hopes Roger Espinoza will be cleared to make his debut on January 2.
Honduras midfielder Espinoza has signed for Latics and been granted a work permit to play in the Premier League, but the Major League Soccer star is sweating on his paperwork being processed in New York over the festive period.
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez said: "I don't think he will take too much time to adapt."
