MLS Commissioner Don Garber was not prepared to speculate on the future of Barcelona striker Thierry Henry in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

The France international has been linked with a move to the USA to play MLS, particularly with New York Red Bulls, but Garber was not jumping to any conclusions and thought it best to not make too much of a fuss about a player who is still under contract.

"Listen, who could not love Thierry Henry and be excited about his passion for this country and his desire to someday play in our league?" Garber said.

"He is under contract today and it would be totally inappropriate for me to make any comments about what his future might be while he's still playing for a club [Barcelona] that I not only admire but am a fan and business partner of."
