Paul Merson has predicted that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be a "sensation" at Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan's move to Arsenal was all but confirmed on Thursday after Gunners manager Arsene Wenger indicated that Alexis Sanchez's transfer to Manchester United would "likely happen" with Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction.
Mkhitaryan, who joined United in 2016 from Borussia Dortmund, has struggled for regular game time this season under Jose Mourinho.
"I am a big fan of Mkhitaryan," Merson said on The Debate.
"I watched him at Dortmund, where he was voted player of the season and scored plenty of goals.
"He has lost his way at Manchester United but if Arsenal get him, with the way they play and the way Arsene Wenger is going forward with attacking players, I think he will be a sensation.
"He is a great signing for Arsenal if they get him."
