MK Dons are dropping their bid for Tottenham coach Paul Mitchell.

The Sun says Mitchell is head of recruitment at Spurs and fancies a crack at management, but he is on a high salary at White Hart Lane.

And as Mitchell is working the last five months of a one-year notice period it would cost him to take a drop in pay and head for Milton Keynes.

Now the Dons are poised to interview other candidates, with Steve Cotterill set for talks this week.
