MK Dons have confirmed the appointment of former Chelsea and Italy midfielder Roberto Di Matteo as their new manager.
Di Matteo has signed a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months and will take charge of first-team affairs immediately.
The club said in a statement: "Like the club itself, Roberto is young, ambitious and hungry to succeed. We are enormously excited about the team moving forward under his leadership."
Di Matteo is thought to have emerged on top from a list of around 40 candidates for the post, including Ian Holloway and Steve Cotterill.
