MK Dons manager Karl Robinson was excited after completing the signing of Matthew Upson.
The 36-year-old former Arsenal and west Ham United defender signed a one-year contract with the Championship club after being released by Leicester City.
He made five league appearances for the Foxes during his solitary year at the club.
Robinson said: "We've got ourselves an experienced defender who has played in the World Cup and the Premier League. I think having good leaders around the place is important. "It's a unique one in terms of the mould of player we would usually go for but sometimes they are there to be broken if it's the right type of player. We are really excited about the experience he can bring. He's also a calming influence and a good character."
