Steve McClaren has tipped Aleksandar Mitrovic to be a star for Newcastle United and has labelled him key to any Toon success.
Mitrovic has struggled with his discipline this year and was sent off against Arsenal earlier in the season, causing some to question his mentality.
However, McClaren speaking ahead of his side's Tyne-Wear derby against rivals Sunderland has singled out Mitrovic for praise and backed the striker to succeed at St James' Park
McClaren said: "We're well aware of his disciplinary record [in Belgium] but he has shown a level of maturity in our last three games.
"We knew there was a bit of the devil in him but to be perfectly honest, that has added to our game. We need that from him, but we also need control and that is the key."
