The Football League in England has renewed its partnership with Mitre Sports International for a further four years, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
The agreement will see Mitre Sports, a British sportswear and equipment supplier, continue as the official ball supplier to The Football League.
Mitre's most technologically advanced football, the Delta Hyperseam, will be used as the official match ball for the 2015/16 season across the three professional soccer divisions below the Premier League in England.
In total, the Delta Hyperseam will feature in 1,656 matches across the Sky Bet Championship, League 1 and League 2, while a further 15 games will be played using the ball for the Sky Bet Play-Offs at Wembley at the climax of The Football League season.
All 72 Football League teams will play home fixtures with a customised version of the Mitre Delta Hyperseam featuring club logos and colours. Bespoke editions of the ball will be used for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and the Capital One Cup, which kicks off on 12th August.
Shaun Harvey, the chief executive of The Football League, said: "The Football League is proud to announce this partnership renewal with Mitre, safe in the knowledge that our clubs will be playing with the best quality footballs available on the market. The Football League and Mitre are two great British names known the world over and we look forward to working together to provide another season of excitement for fans at home and abroad."
