Perth Glory recruit Josh Mitchell is ready for his first appearance for his new club.

The 26-year old defender joined the Glory from Romanian club Universitatea Craiova in the off-season but has experienced difficulty in receiving his International Transfer Certificate.

However, Mitchell has received provisional registration and is now set for his debut against the Newcastle Jets on Saturday evening and he cannot wait.

"It's a huge relief," Mitchell told the Newcastle Herald yesterday.

"I doubt if I will get a gig straight away, we are doing pretty well, but it's good to be available.

"We didn't have a defender on the bench so hopefully I can grab a spot there."
