Misura joins Newcastle Jets on short-term contract

Injury-ravaged Newcastle Jets have brought in Slovenian-born striker Tomislav Misura on a short-term deal.

The 29-year old has been on trial with the Jets for the past four weeks from Chinese Super League club Qingdao Jonoon and only needs an international transfer certificate before he is allowed to play for his new club.

"His visa has come through, his international transfer clearance hasn't," Jets chief executive John Tsatsimas said yesterday.

"We have lodged the documentation with FIFA, now it is a matter between Football Federation Australia and the Chinese FA.

"We would hope that it is processed by the weekend but we don't know."

Misura's presence will give some much-needed cover following a large number of injuries to key attackers on the Jets playing list.

Misura will come in as an injury-replacement player for New Zealand international Jeremy Brockie who is still out for about six weeks with a broken bone in his foot.
