Middlesbrough caretaker coach Steve Agnew was left to rue missed chances in his side's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Monday.
Boro matched their more-fancied opponents until Mesut Ozil score the winner in the 71st-minute, after Alvaro Negredo had cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's sublime opener.
However, Agnew insists that the story could have been a whole lot different if either of Dani Ayala or Adama Traore had buried their chances in the second half.
"Dani's is a knock-down, he's got his head on it and unfortunately it goes straight at Petr Cech," he said.
"Either side and it's a goal - Dani did everything he could.
"Adama has the pace to hurt the opposition and he had some great runs.
"Rudy [Gestede] came on. We went with two strikers and we were on the front foot but it just wasn't to be."
