Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear is under consideration for the Sunderland job.

The Daily Star Sunday says Sunderland have received a third-party approach on behalf of the Toon gaffer.

The Black Cats have been told that Kinnear, brought in as interim manager, fears he will be out of a job once Magpies owner Mike Ashley sells the club.
