James Milner has revealed that Brendan Rodgers played a significant role in convincing him to join Liverpool.
And now the 29-year-old is ready to run through a brick wall for his new manager.
The England international joined the Merseysiders on a Bosman transfer after his time with Manchester City.
"Brendan had a massive role," said Milner.
"Obviously the club does not need selling. It's a massive club globally, with the history. But I spoke to the manager about his plans for the team and for myself. He knew a lot about me.
"After the conversation, I felt like I wanted to go and run through a brick wall for the manager and the club. He's that sort of manager. He had a major role, to be honest.
"It's a huge club and Man City, maybe over the course of history, isn't as quite as big as Liverpool.
