James Milner wants a central role with Manchester City.
The midfielder was happy to be back in the middle for the FA Cup draw at Leicester City.
Milner said: "I played in the middle on Sunday which I think is by far my best position and obviously that helps.
"Hopefully, I will play a bit more in there, keep improving and show what I can do.
"I was brought to the club to play centrally, and that's why the manager spent the money on me, because I was in the middle for Aston Villa and it was based on my performances there.
"Hopefully, I can play a bit more there, contribute and help City move forward."
