James Milner is looking to use his experience to help the less experienced players at Liverpool.

At 29, Milner cannot necessarily be classed as a veteran but with nearly 14 seasons of Premier League experience under his belt, the midfielder is certainly an experienced campaigner.

Therefore along with his wonderful abilities on the pitch, Milner adds a lot of nous to the Liverpool ranks and the England international is now hoping to impart some of his knowledge for the good of the team.

Milner said: "The manager has spoken to me about that and he sees I can do that role. I've been around at this level since I was 16 and I've been lucky enough to win trophies.

"If I can use my experience to help the younger guys along that's what I'll do. There's a lot of football left in me and hopefully I'll be a part of a massively successful period."
