James Milner admits it's difficult holding onto a place in Aston Villa's first team.
"Everyone wants to play football and I am no different but that is what happens when you are at a quality club with a lot of quality players," the £12 million winger told the Sunday Mercury.
"There is competition for places and you have to perform every day in training.
"You see 'Sids' (Sidwell) coming off the bench and one or two others coming off the bench and there were some who didn't even get on and some in the stands.
"It shows the quality of Aston Villa and that is only good for us."
