Manchester City midfielder James Milner feels they must be careful of not getting carried away with their league position.
Milner, 24, believes money cannot buy you instant success regardless of what the club's Arab owners may feel.
He said: "We have scored four goals away from home against a tough, well-organised team. We have quality all the way through the team. It is just about having time to gel.
"We need to keep improving. It will take time. We know that.
"We will just get on with our business. There is going to be a lot of talk. But there are a lot of slip-ups all over the league from top to bottom.
"Chelsea are a top team but even they have blips. Everyone can beat everyone. All we can do is take care of our own business.
"The Premier League - especially because it is a lot different to other leagues around the world - is very competitive and you have a tough game no matter who you play against."
