Manchester City midfielder James Milner says the intense training of manager Manuel Pellegrini will pay dividends this season.
He says he and his Manchester City colleagues are working hard in training in a bid to improve.
Milner, 27, told The Sun: "The performances against Newcastle and Man United are the stand out ones - and it goes without saying we have to make sure we try to play that well every time we go out.
"We are still adjusting to a number of things and it takes time for the new players to bed in.
"There's a higher tempo at training under Manuel.
"It's intense but hopefully the fruits of all the hard work we're putting in will show out on the pitch.
"I think everyone has seen already the standards we are capable of reaching.
"What we need is to make sure we achieve those on a regular basis."
