James Milner has rejected Manchester City's latest contract offer.
The England international is currently inside the final year of his current deal.
The Times says talks over a new agreement broke down last week and City chiefs are now weighing up whether to go back to Milner's camp with a final offer.
The former Aston Villa midfielder joined City in 2010.
