James Milner is delighted with his decision to leave Newcastle United for Aston Villa this season.
"It's a great place to be playing football at the moment," Milner told BBC Sport. "I'm enjoying my football.
"There is a lot of young English talent here and a mix of experience as well. The manager has got it spot on."
Milner, who created the only goal of the match at West Ham when his cross ricocheted in off Lucas Neill, is determined not to let talk of England or Villa's top-four chances go to his head.
"When you start doing well things get said and it's down to us to ignore that and just control what happens on the field," the 22-year-old said, after victory took them to third in the Barclays Premier League.
"The top four has been the top four for a long time - quality teams with quality players, that's why they're up there.
"If we can break into it that's great - but we'll take it one step at a time and keep improving."
