James Milner admits he's battling Ashley Young for a place at both Aston Villa and for England.

"Have I moved ahead of Ashley in the pecking order? I don't know about that," said Milner.

"The manager's not said anything to me really. We're all professional players and we know what's expected of us.

"There's a lot of competition for places. I'll just keep going out there and trying my best for Aston Villa and if I'm lucky enough to get a chance for England as well.

"Whatever happens happens and then it's down to the England manager and the Aston Villa manager to decide."
