Millwall boss Kenny Jackett is hoping to agree a deal to keep Wolves defender Darren Ward on loan for the rest of the season. Ward is now back at Wolves and Jackett is planning to hold talks with his Molineux counterpart Mick McCarthy regarding an extension for the player.

"We are going to look to extend and keep Darren, definitely," Jackett told the News Shopper.

"There are people on four bookings and we do seem to lose defenders, although we've got some options there.

"Going into the New Year now it is obviously crucial for us and for him, but there hasn't been any pressure on us from Wolves to play him.

"We will have to see, but maybe we can secure something until the end of the season."
