Millwall are lining up a bid for Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger.
The Evening Chronicle says the Lions want Newcastle's out-of-favour striker Ranger - but they are not prepared to pay the Toon's £1m-plus asking price.
Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City are also monitoring Ranger's availability and United are confident they will be able to move the England under-19 striker on before the start of the season.
However, with front-runners the Lions unwilling to go anywhere near the asking price, they may have to lower their fee, which is currently around the £1.5m mark.
