Millwall chief executive Andy Ambler wants the Football League to consider playing fixtures abroad.
Ambler, voted on to the Football League board a year ago, feels teams outside the Premier League can also benefit from the huge interest in the English game from overseas.
He told the Football League Paper: "At Championship level in particular, I think we need to realise that our product is exceptional.
"In the play-off final we have arguably the most talked-about game anywhere - certainly the richest game going.
"I just wonder if there is an argument to take the Football League around the world. Why not? The Premier League couldn't get acceptance for a 39th game - it's a radical idea and fans perhaps wouldn't like it. However, we now have owners from all around the world. It has to be worth exploring."
