Millwall to banish fans involved in Rotherham fracas

Millwall have vowed to ban supporters who were responsible for violence at Rotherham United on the weekend.

Lions fans caused plenty of trouble when attempting to invade sections of the New York Stadium that housed home supporters after the south London clubs 2-1 loss on the road.

Millwall supporters clashed with police inside and outside the stadium and the incidents will now be investigated by South Yorkshire Police.

The Lions also released a statement saying they would look to banish any fans who were found guilty of inciting the violent behavior.

"The club's position remains clear - anyone associated with the club found guilty of violent behaviour will be banned from Millwall matches, in addition to any punishment they receive from the authorities," read the Millwall statement.

"The club will wait until all necessary investigations have been completed before we will comment further."
