Mark Milligan has remained at Melbourne Victory following the close of the English Premier League's transfer window.
Crystal Palace were in discussions with the A-League club to take the 28-year old Australian international midfielder but the two clubs could not come to an agreement over how to pay the transfer fee.
The Eagles had made a couple of offers for Milligan which did not meet the Victory's valuation of their star before coming forward with a bid of $AUD1.4million which would have been enough to land him.
However, Palace wanted to pay the fee in instalments which the Victory reportedly rejected out of hand, preferring a lump sum.
