Rangers came from behind to secure three points for the fourth time in an SPL away match. Gers boss Walter Smith saw his team slip behind to Conor Sammon's opener before two Kenny Miller penalties put the Light Blues in front.
Sammon pegged the visitors back again before Miller sealed three points with a hat-trick clinching strike.
Smith told the club's official website: "We're delighted to get the three points because Kilmarnock are playing well at the moment.
"It was always going to be a tough game for us and I don't think we were at our best throughout the 90 minutes.
"Having said that when we did get in front and Kilmarnock were down to 10 men we had a few opportunities that might have made it a bit more comfortable for us.
"A bigger win might have flattered us a little bit but we're pleased with the win because it's been an awkward spell for the boys.
"They had the games coming regularly and then a break and now they have to get back up for it again."
Rangers again showed resilience despite not being at their best and the come from behind aspect was a pleasing one for Smith.
He added: "We continue to do that and it's pleasing, although I could well be doing without it at times.
"But Kilmarnock play good football and any team coming here would be delighted to get a win."
Smith was also relieved to see his charges make it through the game with no fresh injury concerns ahead of Wednesday's Champions League visit from Manchester United.
"It seems we don't have any new problems and we hope that is the case once we get back to training," said Smith.
