Charlie Miller is delighted with his first season at Queensland Roar. The former Rangers midfielder told The Herald: "To be honest, I came out to Australia just for a game of football and the chance to start a new life together with my family. Queensland is the loveliest place in the world, but it is a nightmare sometimes when you miss your family back home.
"You can't just pick up the phone when you come in from your work because of the time difference and it's not as if you can nip up the road to see them. It has still worked out better than I expected.
The standard is good, certainly no worse than the SPL, and a lot more open and competitive. Adelaide beat us last week and they finished runners-up in the Asian Champions League, behind Gamba Osaka."
