Miller to be fit for Brisbane v Melbourne clash
Brisbane Roar midfielder Charlie Miller could return to action this weekend after a five-week lay-off.
The Scottish playmaker decided to have a mid-season rest to freshen himself up and get his niggling groin injury right but after two weeks of full training, is ready and raring to go for the clash with Melbourne Victory at Suncorp stadium this Saturday night.
“It’s been a long time coming but obviously I had my suspension against Melbourne the last time and then I had a niggling groin injury that’s been irritating me for the last six months,” Miller said.
“So I thought I may as well just take my time and make sure I’m properly fit to get back in the team again. So hopefully that’s the end of my injuries now.”
Miller admitted he was unsure if he would start or come off the bench to make an impact but regardless was just happy to be back out on the pitch.
“I would love 90 (minutes) but it’s up to the gaffer,” he said. “He picks the team.
“The boys got a great result last match. Reinaldo and Sergio (van Dijk) played really well up front and the midfield boys did well so if I start it’ll be great but if I don’t start and I’m the bench so be it.
“But I’ll be fighting to play 100 per cent and I’ll let my feet do the talking.”
