Miller admits he may have not been wanted by Brisbane

Departed Brisbane Roar midfielder Charlie Miller admits he may have not been wanted by the club.

The Scottish playmaker had his request to be released from his contract granted last week meaning he has played his last game for the Roar and has spoken out about the current dealings at the club since the departure of coach Frank Farina.

"I heard a lot of stories that Ange (Postecoglou, who replaced Frank Farina seven weeks ago) wanted move the older players out of the team," Miller said.

"I don't know why, maybe it's because they like to have a bit of fun and enjoy their lives. Maybe that's not to some people's liking.

"I knew it was time to move on. I didn't have many dealings with Ange personally.

"He kept himself to himself but I got the impression I wasn't really required."

Miler is currently training with Gold Coast United in a bid to be signed as an injury replacement player after a request for a guest stint was rejected by FIFA.

The 33-year old said he would love the chance to play for United who he rates as a good club.

"Gold Coast are a good team and have it all to play for this season. I'd love to be the link which helps them achieve their goals," he added.
