Despite a blow-up with coach Gary van Egmond at the start of their Asian Champions League campaign, Ljubo Milicevic is now keen to extend his stay with the Newcastle Jets. "I think two years is good for everyone," Milicevic told the Newcastle Herald.

"You will not see me playing in the A-League any time soon.

"I am planning to go to Europe in June or July. I'm not hiding that."

He added: "I have proved to myself that I am ready to be a professional footballer again and I proved to them I am as good as I ever was.

"I think the contract I now sign has to reflect that because at the moment I am on peanuts."
