"After finding my feet a little, I think I adapted and adjusted to the demands of English football," Emanuelson told the club's official website as he gets set to return to Milan.
"I’d played in Italy and Holland – two very good leagues, as well as the Champions League.
"However, the football in this country is totally different – I don’t think you can really prepare for the intensity. You just have to get in and play.

"It was a great opportunity for me at Fulham as I’d always wanted to play in the Premier League. That was my personal highlight."
