Mikel hails Hiddink influence as Chelsea ease past Crystal Palace

John Obi Mikel was full of praise for Chelsea caretaker boss Guus Hiddink.

The Blues defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park on Sunday to secure their second win in the post-Jose Mourinho era and the impact of Hiddink, who replaced the Portuguese just before Christmas, has certainly been felt by the playing group.

Following the win in South London, midfielder Mikel spoke of the Hiddink impact which has lifted the Chelsea squad and got hem playing with confidence once again.

"Guus has come in, picked things up and we've had to go again," Mikel told Sky Sports.

"Since he came in we have worked very hard in training. The atmosphere has stilled a bit, and the players have been more relaxed.

"We played very, very well today."
