Former Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic has revealed he tried to sign Jose Mourinho two years ago.
Mijatovic says Mourinho is the right man in charge of Real.
He told AS: "Without a doubt.
"In fact I tried for him, but I was unable to convince Ramon Calderon in the summer of 2008, when Mourinho had left Chelsea and had not yet signed for Inter.
"It was what we should have done.
"It was a good opportunity to take a step forward, but we won the league and I was not able to convince the president."
