Inter Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is delighted with the capture of former Roma defender Cristian Chivu.

"The arrival of Chivu is important," said Mihajlovic. "He's one that can cover several roles in defence and this is very important, above all because at the beginning of the Champions League we will lack three players in that unit."

Indeed, Inter will have Maicon, Nicola Burdisso and Ivan Cordoba all suspended for the opening round of the Champions League due to last season's clash with Valencia.
