Simon Mignolet says he's delighted with the way he was welcomed to Sunderland last season.
The giant 6'4" stopper says the atmosphere around the club and beyond makes Sunderland an ideal place for him to continue to learn his trade.
Reflecting on the early stages of his Sunderland career, Mignolet told safc.com: "Settling in was easy. I spoke a little of the language, which really helped.
"I am not that far away from Belgium here - only an hour flight - and my family are quickly here too.
"I have been made to feel welcome by everyone at the club, from the players to the supporters.
"We have a number of foreign players who speak other languages I can speak.
"Everyone has been very good to me."
