Mignolet: Liverpool only focusing on next fixture as top-four race continues

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is only focusing on Liverpool's next game as the race for the top four heats up in the Premier League.

The Reds are currently fifth on the table, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, but Mignolet suggests they cannot look too far ahead.

Speaking after the 2-0 win against Newcastle United on Monday night, Mignolet told the NBC: "The message for us is, until the end of the season just play every single game, take every game as it comes and make sure we keep doing our jobs, then we'll see where it ends up at the end of the season.

"There's a lot to play for. There's no point in looking too far ahead of us. We just take every game as it comes and we'll try to perform the best we can in the next game."

Liverpool next play Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday before returning to league action with a trip to West Bromwich Albion on April 25.
