Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate is set to win an England recall for the crunch Euro2008 qualifier against Russia.

Woodgate returned to full training last week and played in Boro's 2-2 draw with Newcastle yesterday.

That gives him an outside chance of a recall because England boss Steve McClaren's squad has been rocked by injuries.

Woodgate said: "I hope when I'm playing again I'll be in the squad."
