Middlesbrough defender Manu Pogatetz says former manager Steve McClaren is the right man in charge of England.
Pogatetz said: "I feel proud because I had him as a manager and now he is doing really well at international level. It is always very tight to qualify - you could see that in Scotland's game or in the Russia game against Israel when they hit the post.
"It is only little things which decide if you qualify or not. It is not always down to the manager. He is doing a really good job. England really deserve to qualify and I hope they will.
"It is a nice thing for me that I was able to work with such a good manager in the past."
