Middlesbrough's Mido admits surgery plans

Middlesbrough striker Mido expects to miss the season after deciding to undergo a hernia op.

"I have spoken to (Gareth) Southgate and he said to me that he knows I have faced very bad luck this season, and it's good for me to have the surgery now and be ready for pre-season training," said Mido.

And the player's brother, Tamer Wasfi, added: "Mido suffered pelvic pain during Middlesbrough's game against Arsenal and the club's medical team told him he has to undergo an operation in order not to aggravate the injury."
