Middlesbrough midfielder Gaizka Mendieta is on his way to the USA.
The Sun says the Spanish midfielder, 34, bowed out in a reserve game against Manchester City on Tuesday.
Mendieta, once valued at £30million, was restricted by injury to just 76 games in five years. He is now set to join a Major League Soccer club in the States.
