Middlesbrough's Cattermole: I forgot how to play

Middlesbrough midfielder Lee Cattermole admits he 'forgot' how to play earlier this season.

"It's good to be back, I just want starts now," Cattermole, linked with Liverpool last week, told the Sunday Sun. "There's a lot of competition in midfield but I'm looking at the last seven games as a mini season. It's a chance for me to get in and make an impression.

"When you come back from injury you need a run of games to get into your stride.

"Adrenaline will get you through the first one, but it's not until you have played three or four that your sharpness and match fitness comes back.

"I have been doing a lot of extra running on the treadmill in the gym to make sure I am fully fit, because you can never replicate match intensity in training.

"I like to get in my share of tackles and set things up for players like Stewart Downing.

"However, I went through a period where I felt I was forgetting what I was best at."
