Middlesbrough's Aliadiere set for lengthy absence

Middlesbrough striker Jeremie Aliadiere is facing a spell on the sidelines after damaging his hamstring in Saturday's defeat at West Ham.

The summer signing from Arsenal limped out of the action during the first half of the 3-0 reverse at Upton Park.

He will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury and the club will then be able to put a timescale on his return to action.

Manager Gareth Southgate told the Evening Gazette: "It's a shame for Jeremie because he was looking so sharp.

"I don't know how long he will be out. We'll have to wait for the results of scans."
