Middlesbrough youngster Dael Fry grateful for Woodgate, Stubbs tutelage

Middlesbrough youngster Dael Fry values the training he's done with Jonathan Woodgate.

The 19-year-old centre-half joined Rotherham in a season-long deal from Premier League side Middlesbrough on deadline day.

Fry told The Sun: “I signed a new contract on deadline day and then Boro said that I could go out on loan.

Rotherham was the only place I wanted to go to really because of Alan Stubbs. He was a top centre-half with Everton and Celtic and I knew that I was going to learn a lot from him.

“I've been quite lucky with my managers and it's been great for me as a defender to take onboard all the advice they have given me.

“Whenever I watch my clips back after a game with any of them, they'll run through everything with me and use their experiences to show me what I can do better.

“Woodgate was a big help for me too. He's been at some of the biggest clubs and played for England.

“He was always one who would pull me aside and tell me how he thinks I could improve from his perspective."
