Middlesbrough, Wigan in talks with Bosman prospect McCormack

Motherwell striker Ross McCormack admits the Premiership is where his future lies.

The Sunday Mail says McCormack's agent has held talks with both Wigan and Middlesbrough who want him to sign a pre-contract.

He has lots to consider but is relishing the interest. The striker is just praying Motherwell fans will understand if he heads to England. He said: "I've spoken to Boro, Wigan and Hearts.

Motherwell are also offering me a deal so I have a big decision to make.

"My agent travelled down to both Premiership clubs and came back with glowing reports.

"Steve Bruce and Gareth Southgate seem really good guys and the feedback is they don't just see me as a squad man - they want to give me a chance and play me.

"It all sounds great but I've not decided what option is best yet.

"The Premiership is always something I wanted to try when I was a kid.

"I've had a few Motherwell fans come up and say, 'I can't believe you're leaving after giving us just one season'.

"But the Premiership doesn't come calling too often and if that's where I decide to go I'm sure anyone in my shoes would do the same.

"It could be too big an opportunity to turn down."
