Middlesbrough turn down Swansea offer for striker Lita

According to SkysportsSwansea City have had a bid rejected for Middlesbrough's Leroy Lita. Ex-England Under-21 star Lita had his best season for a number of years last term with 12 league goals and is seen as the ideal hitman for the Swans as they prepare for their first season in the Premier League.

Boro boss Tony Mowbray is a confirmed fan, but with the Teesside club still looking to cut their wage bill, Lita could move if a suitable offer is made.

However, Swansea's opening offer of less than £1m is way below Boro's valuation of a player they signed on a free transfer in 2009.
