Middlesbrough aren't interested in Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood, but are keen to discuss several of his teammates.

The Evening Gazette says there are strong reports from the Midlands that Boro have entered into discussion with Villa over a player-swap deal.

It's impossible to guess who the players involved might be, though naturally Tuncay is Boro's most attractive transfer target for other clubs.

Boro defender David Wheater, who has been linked with interest from Villa on several occasions, is definitely not involved.

Boro have a long standing interest in Villa players like Steve Sidwell and Nicky Shorey, while Craig Gardner is a possible target, but it's all guesswork at this stage.
