Middlesbrough striker Lee Dong Gook wants Premiership stay

The forward had agreed a deal to return to his former K-League club Pohang Steelers before the Korean transfer deadline today - but has now changed his mind.

It is believed that despite being told he had no future at Boro Lee would prefer to see out his deal which expires in the summer in the hope of attracting another English club, says the Evening Gazette.

That prospect seems unlikely as Boro had earlier circulated his name as available for loan and attracted no interest except for an inquiry from MLS side Toronto which was never followed up.
