Middlesbrough splashing out for Man Utd keeper Johnstone

Manchester United are ready to sell Sam Johnstone.

The Sun says United are ready to sell goalkeeper Johnstone to Garry Monk's Middlesbrough in a £2.5 million deal.

Johnstone is down the pecking order at Old Trafford and keen to play first-team football after a successful season on loan at Aston Villa.

Boro are in talks to agree a fee and wages for Johnstone as Monk is losing both of his senior keepers Victor Valdes and Brad Guzan.

Johnstone has top Championship experience and would be the number one as Monk puts together a new look defence.
