Middlesbrough secure youngster Main to new deal

Middlesbrough have confirmed that Curtis Main has signed a new contract with the club.

The 20-year old striker, who is currently sidelined following knee surgery, has penned a one-year deal keeping him at the Riverside Stadium until 2015 and he is delighted to have been given some security by Boro boss Tony Mowbray.

"I'm grateful the manager has shown faith in me and I can't wait to restart full training and get playing again," he said.

"I've really enjoyed my time here and I hope I can continue to make progress.

"I realise there is stiff competition for places, but that will only spur me on."
